WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 47 Purdue men's tennis (9-5, 1-4 Big Ten) nearly toppled its third ranked opponent of the season in No. 22 Michigan (10-7, 4-1 Big Ten),  as the battle came down to the final court. Ultimately, the Boilermakers fell 3-4 to the Wolverines, marking just the second home loss of the season (9-2).
 
The tense battle saw No. 22 Michigan have an answer for each point No. 47 Purdue scored, before taking the 3-2 edge. The Boilermakers earned the doubles point, followed by victories by Henrik Villanger and Nour Fathalla. A total of five sets across singles play were decided by a 7-5 or in tiebreak fashion with the last two courts to finish, including the match-clincher, went the distance to decide a victor.

No. 104 Aleksa Krivokapic battled hard at the No. 1 spot against No. 89 ranked Gavin Young, forcing a Set 1 tiebreak before ultimately falling, 7-6 (1), 6-2 to the Wolverines.

Purdue returns to action Sunday against No. 29 Michigan State at noon and will be played indoors at Schwartz.
