Pitching Breakdown:
HOW IT HAPPENED

For the second day in a row, the Boilers started out hot against the Salukis, scoring two runs in the top of the first, on three hits. Khloe Banks singled to center, and was moved over by Moriah Polar, before scoring on a double from Julia Gossett. Gossett was then brought around by Maura Condon, whose single was her third-career hit.

The Salukis cut the deficit in half during the second inning, scoring one run after a walk, an error, and a single. The Boilers were able to stop the damage as another perfect throw from Moriah Polar caught the runner attempting to even the score.

The Boilermakers went out to a 3-1 lead on an RBI ground out from Gossett, and the score remained until the bottom of the fourth when SIU cut the deficit to one run again, on a solo home run to left center. In the bottom of the fifth, SIU added another run to tie up the ball game, which would eventually lead the teams to extra innings.

In the top half of the eighth, Purdue plated two runs on a throwing error from the Salukis, and an RBI single from Delaney Reefe, but the Salukis fought back in the bottom of the inning, scoring three runs on three hits to take their second walk off victory against the Boilers in two days.
