COLUMBUS, Ohio Avery Worobel was victorious on 1-meter and Jenna Sonneberg's sixth-place finish was significant as the event's final automatic-qualifying spot for the NCAA Championships, headlining Tuesday at the Zone C Championships that featured five Purdue Divers ultimately qualifying for the national championship meet in both springboard events.

Jordan Rzepka (fourth), Zach Welsh (fifth) and Max Miller (ninth) were all top 10 in the men's 3-meter event to add to their programs at NCAAs. They only needed to be top 12 Tuesday after finishing among the automatic-qualifying spots on 1-meter Monday.

Sonnenberg was 11th in the women's 3-meter event Monday, meaning she was still in search of an official bid to NCAAs. Zone C's top six finishers on 1-meter were designated automatic qualifiers for NCAAs. She was sixth after the prelim and maintained that important spot on the leaderboard, holding off the seventh-place finisher by 0.7 tenths of a point. Sonnenberg qualified for NCAAs for the third time in her career and will also have an opportunity to compete on 1-meter at the national championship meet.

Worobel continued to shine on the springboards, winning by 10 points over the course of the two lists. She placed second on 3-meter Monday, teaming up with Daryn Wright and Sophie McAfee as part of Purdue's 1-2-3 finish.

Freshmen Tyler Wills (10th) and Kaden Springfield (12th) both finished among the top 12 on 3-meter Tuesday in their debuts at Zones. That was significant going into Wednesday's platform competition. If they can finish top 10 on the tower (their best event) to auto-qualify for NCAAs, they'll also have an opportunity to compete on 3-meter at the national championship meet.

Worobel, Rzepka, Welsh and Miller all improved on their prelim list totals in the final, with Rzepka's 47.5-point improvement being the most significant.

The Zone C Diving Championships conclude Wednesday with the women's platform event at 11 a.m. ET and the men's to follow at approximately 2 p.m. Purdue should have four entries in both events. As the reigning Big Ten champion on platform, Rzepka is set to become the first Boilermaker ever to qualify for the NCAA Championships in all three diving events for four years in a row.
