INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. and LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Purdue Indoor Track & Field earned four victories, three in Indianapolis, Ind. and one in Louisville, Ky., to begin its two-day weekend of competition.
Cameron Miller earned the 200m win at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, while Nathan Walker (5000m), Collin Kao (pole vault) and Cale Ayers (weight throw) all earned wins at the Midwest Classic Invitational.
Men's Notes
• Miller ran 20.57 in the 200m that ranks third in the NCAA this season. The time also currently sits seventh in the world in 2025. Miller has won all six of his races so far this season – two in each of the 200m, 300m and 4x400m relay.
• Walker ran 13:58.12 in the 5000m to become the fourth runner in program history to go sub-14 in the event. Douglas Buckeridge followed in 14:05.92 to rank seventh in program history. Both Walker and Buckeridge are now in the program top 10 in the 3000m and 5000m.
• Kao went 5.23m (17-01.75) in the pole vault for a new personal best. It was his second personal best in the last three meets after he went 5.17m (16-11.50) in Michigan.
• Ayers earned his second consecutive victory with a throw of 19.97m (65-06.25). The winning mark came on his last throw.
Women's Notes
• Alexia Smith earned a runner-up finish in the 200m after she ran 23.99. The time moved her into 10th in program history. It was her second consecutive meet with an indoor personal best after she went 53.82 in the 400m last weekend.
• Britannie Johnson (18.44m / 60-06.00) and Rebecca Caliendo (17.92m / 58-09.50) both had a personal best in the weight throw.
• Mirai Bernard had a personal-best 24.50 in the 200m to finish seventh in the field of 40 athletes
• Emma Squires finished sixth in the 5000m in 17:05.21.
