The Boilermakers saw their fast start overcome by a second half rush by No. 7 Maryland last Saturday in a 78-69 loss at Mackey Arena. Purdue's defense held Maryland to just 29% shooting in the first half, but the Terrapins tallied 49 points in the second half to erase a 16-point gap. Rashunda Jones paced the Boilermakers with 17 points off the bench. Reagan Bass tallied 16 points in 38 minutes of action. Destini Lombard had 15 points with a trio of triples.

• Purdue leads the all-time series 2-0. Saturday will be the first meeting at Mackey Arena.
• The Boilermakers will welcome home Kentucky associate head coach Lindsey Hicks on Saturday. Hicks played in 126 games for Purdue from 2001-04 and helped Purdue win three Big Ten titles and reach four NCAA Tournaments, including the 2001 NCAA National Championship Game.
• Associate head coach Kelly Komara received two honors this week. The former Purdue standout guard was named to the 2025 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Class and earned a spot in the WBCA Next Generation Institute.
• Destini Lombard has been a pest on the defensive end, recording 21 steals on the year for 2.33 per game. She ranks fifth and fourth in the Big Ten, respectively. Lombard has just under a third of Purdue's 65 steals.
• Lombard has led Purdue against ranked opposition (No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 7 Maryland) with 17.3 points per game, while going 8-of-16 from behind the arc. She dropped a career-high 23 points against South Carolina.
• Lombard is one of four Big Ten players averaging over 14 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 2.0 APG and 2.0 SPG.
• Lana McCarthy is one of five freshmen to record two double-doubles against Division I opposition this year and is one of two from the Big Ten alongside Kiyomi McMiller from Rutgers.
• The Boilermakers have knocked off three ranked teams under Katie Gearlds.
• Purdue's NET non-conference strength of schedule is 36, the second toughest in the Big Ten behind Indiana at 30.
• McCarthy is one of six freshmen nationally with over 7.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 50% or better.
• Reagan Bass averaged 18 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 60% (15-25) from the field and 3-of-6 from behind the arc in games against Maine and No. 7 Maryland.
• While hitting 12 3-pointers on the year, second most on the team, Sophie Swanson has eclipsed her assist total from last season (11) with 21 helpers, good for third on the team.
• Rashunda Jones tallied 17 points off the bench against Maryland to lead the Boilermakers. The sophomore has reached double figures twice this season off the bench.
• Three Boilermakers have connected on 12 or more 3-pointers with Destini Lombard leading the way with 15, while Sophie Swanson and Ella Collier have hit 12 times. The trio are tied for second most on a team in the Big Ten behind Nebraska's four.
• The Boilermakers enter the weekend 25th in the nation in blocks per game with 5.1. Reagan Bass is 11th in the Big Ten with 12 rejections on the year.
• The seven active newcomers have powered the Boilermakers' production this year with 76% of the points, 87% of rebounds, 63% of assists. All six of Purdue's double-doubles have been recorded by a player in their first year on the court at Purdue.
• Purdue will play nine games scheduled against teams in the preseason AP Top-25 rankings and is the only team in the nation that will face four teams in the top six of the preseason Top-25.
