WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue cross country team is set to venture out to its final race ahead of the Big Ten Championships this weekend with the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals in Madison.
Both Boilermakers squads will compete in the B race with the women starting at 1:40 p.m. (ET) on a 6,000-meter course, and the men get underway at 2:20 p.m. in an 8,000-meter run. The precursor to the NCAA Cross Country National Championships will be held on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, which opened in 2009.
Purdue returns to competition after a two-week break at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational where the men placed 10th and the women were 21st.
Payne Turney continued her run of pacing the women in every race this season, posting the sixth fastest 5,000m time for Purdue since 2000. On the men's side, Nathan Walker posted the Boilermakers fastest 8000m pace, while Douglas Buckeridge and Caleb Williams tallied the third and fourth quickest times.
