WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.- Purdue hosts Wisconsin and No. 62 Nebraska this Friday and Sunday to close out the 2024 home slate.
The Boilers return to Schwartz after dropping a pair of Big Ten duals at No. 16 Michigan State and No. 36 Michigan last weekend. During the road trip, Stefan Simeunovic secured the first ranked win of his career when he defeated No. 41 Ronald Hohmann 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 in East Lansing.
Since finding his way into the top half of the singles lineup, Henrik Villanger has gone 2-1 in his last four matches at position No. 3. Villanger owns a 3-1 record against Big Ten opponents which is currently the best conference record by a Purdue singles player under Geoff Young. He also owns a 7-3 record this spring, the second most singles wins behind Soham Purohit (8).
Purdue's opponents will both bring a ranked doubles team to the table.

SCOUTING WISCONSIN:
The Badgers are coming off a nine-match losing streak in a stretch where it has faced 10 ranked opponents in its last 11 matches. In its five Big Ten duals the Badgers have been outscored 29-4.
Wisconsin's No. 78 Mihailo Popovic/Michael Minasyan are 2-1 in dual matches this spring with all three matches played at doubles No. 1. The duo has yet to play a conference match together this spring.
Purdue is 22-61 all-time against Wisconsin. The last time the Boilermakers beat the Badgers was a 4-3 home victory in a stretch where Purdue won five of six matches from 2013 to 2018.
SCOUTING No. 62 NEBRASKA:
Before the Cornhuskers arrive in West Lafayette, they play the No. 69 Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington. Nebraska has played eight ranked opponents this season with a 3-5 record.
The Huskers have faced four ranked teams in conference play with a lone win in a 6-1 decision versus No. 64 Northwestern this past weekend.
No. 62 Nebraska's No. 81 Nic Wiedenhorn/Anton Shepp have an 8-7 record this spring with a 1-1 record in Big Ten play. They have played all 15 matches at the top doubles position.
Nebraska began the spring season with back-to-back Big Ten Player of the Week honors for juniors Anthony Shepp and Calvin Mueller on January 17 and 24.
Purdue is 9-4 all-time against the Cornhuskers. The Boilermakers have had success both at home and on the road with four wins in West Lafayette and in Lincoln. The ninth win came in the first-ever meeting between the two schools in a 4-2 win on a neutral court in Hawaii back in 2001. Purdue's last win against Nebraska was a 4-3 road victory in 2021.
