WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Head coach Magali Frezzotti is bringing more games to West Lafayette in 2024 than Purdue fans have seen in recent history, with 17 on the docket for Bittinger Stadium. The season, set to open Friday, February 9 for Purdue softball in Athens, Georgia, will mark the first season for Frezzotti to lead the Boilermakers.
"There were a lot of factors going into making the schedule for the 2024 season: the student-athlete well-being and the quality of competition being the most influential ones," said Frezzotti. "We have a very competitive non-conference schedule that will challenge us and prepare for conference play because there is no such a thing as an easy schedule in the Big Ten. I am excited about the opportunity to compete at a high level from game one to the end of the season. The highlight of the schedule, in my opinion, is the 17 games at Bittinger Stadium, in front our fans."
Purdue will face seven opponents who made NCAA Regionals appearance last season, including three non-conference opponents. Meanwhile, of those seven opponents, three advanced to Super Regionals (Florida State, Northwestern and Georgia) and one was the national runner-up (Florida State).
New this season, the Boilermakers will be spending spring break in West Lafayette, hosting a three-match series vs Nebraska Omaha. The series, running Thursday, March 14 through Saturday, March 16 will serve as the season's home-opener for Bittinger Stadium.
The Boilermakers will travel to the campuses of Georgia (2/9-11), USF (2/16-18), Central Arkansas (2/23-25), Marshall (3/1-3/3) and Florida Gulf Coast (3/8-3/10). Meanwhile, the Boilermakers will host Nebraska Omaha (3/10-3/16) before Big Ten action begins.
The Big Ten tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8 through Saturday, May 11 and is hosted by Iowa in Iowa City.
There is free admission to all Purdue home games.
