Glitz Adds Dellabarca to Roster for 2023-24

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women's tennis head coach Laura Glitz announced the addition of transfer Calissa Dellabarca to the roster for the 2023-24 season. Dellabarca will arrive in West Lafayette after a freshman campaign at California Santa Barbara.

Dellabarca was one of the top prospects in the southwest for the class of 2022. The Albuquerque, N.M., native was the top player in the state, No. 19 in the Southwest and No. 71 overall nationally in her class. A blue-chip recruit, she climbed all the way up to No. 12 in the Tennis Recruiting Network rankings, while her Tennis RPI checked in at No. 13.

During her prep career, Dellabarca reached No. 484 in the ITF World Junior rankings. She reached the semifinals of five ITF events, making two finals. She won the J5 Christianstead US Virgin Islands Cup singles title in 2019. She qualified for a pair of doubles quarterfinals on the ITF circuit as a junior.

Dellabarca committed to UCSB but saw limited action for the Gauchos in 2022-23. She was tabbed on the dean's list in both of her semesters in Santa Barbara.

Dellabarca joins a Boilermaker squad that returns seven players from 2022-23, a team that finished 15-8 overall. Purdue ended the year at No. 49 in the ITA rankings, its highest mark to finish a campaign since 2014-15.
