WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team will play its third tournament in as many weeks when it hosts the Purdue Fall Invite at the Kampen Course on Monday and Tuesday.
Action starts with 36 holes on Monday (9 AM ET start; shotgun) and concludes with the final 18 holes on Tuesday. This marks the second straight year that Purdue will have hosted a fall event on the Kampen Course.
According to this year's early Golfweek rankings, 10 of the 15 teams are ranked in the top 100, with four squads being in the top 100. Purdue has faced four teams in the field this fall, owning a 2-2-0 record (wins vs. Iowa and Maryland; losses to Illinois State and Nebraska).

Purdue overcame a sluggish start for the third straight tournament to rally to finish fifth at the Marquette Intercollegiate at the Milwaukee Country Club last weekend. The Boilermakers were in eighth place after 36 holes but responded with a 2-over par 282, the third-best team round of the day, to move up three spots into fifth and record its second top-5 finish of the year. Herman Sekne (T-6) and Andrew Farraye (T-16) both earned top-20 finishes.

The Kampen Course, a Pete Dye design, is an 18-hole, links-style, par-72 championship golf course featuring large bent-grass greens, fairways and tees. The layout presents a challenge for golfers of all abilities with vast sand bunkers, native grasslands, ponds and a natural celery bog. Kampen offers five sets of tees with the championship tees playing over 7,400 yards and the forward tees playing at 5,300 yards.
Kampen is rated one of the top collegiate courses in the nation and has been awarded 4.5 stars on Golf Digest's "Places to Play." Kampen receives high marks as it is ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in Indiana.

Just the second year of the Purdue Fall Invitational, the Boilermakers are looking for their first title in the event after finishing second to Indiana by one shot a year ago. Purdue shot a 54-hole total of 5-under par (293-282-284) as ultimately a slow start in the first round did in the Boilermakers. However, Herman Sekne won the individual title by seven shots, shooting an 11-under par 205 (72-66-67).

- Won the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate and Boilermaker Fall Invitational in back-to-back tournaments, the latter by a whopping seven shots.
- One-of-two golfers (Cole Bradley) to have three career tournaments of 205 or better. He's played in 17 events.
- Finished T-16th at the elite World Amateur Team Championship in early September, helping Norway to a fourth-place team finish. Moved from 143 to 124 in the WAGR official rankings.

- Started the year with back-to-back top-20 finishes for the second time in his career and first time since his freshman year, when he finished T-15 at Inverness two weeks ago.
- Finished tied for 16th at the season-opening Badger Invitational, shooting 2-under par 142 (74-68).
- His 68 in the second round at the Badger Invite was his lowest tournament score since the Marquette Intercollegiate as a freshman.
- Three of his eight rounds this fall have been even- or under-par.
- Currently ranks 15th on school's career stroke average list (73.86).

- Solid final round at Marquette, helping Purdue to a fifth-place finish.
- Came up big in the third round at Inverness, firing a 3-under par 68, the second-lowest round of the day. Moved him up 32 spots to finish T-42.
- Recorded his third career top-20 finish (in five events) with a T-19 showing at the Badger Invitational (72-71=143).
- Nine of his 20 career rounds have been at even- or under-par.
- Had a strong summer, winning both the Golfweek Hoosier Amateur and Northern Amateur. Also placed 24th at the prestigious Monroe Invitational.

- Big final round of even-par 70 at Marquette to help Purdue to a fifth-place team finish.
- Strong performance at Inverness, finishing T-12 as an individual at 3-over par 216. It marked his third top-15 performance in his last four events (T-14 at Purdue Fall Invite; T-11 at Boilermaker Invite; T-53 at Badger Invite; T-12 at Inverness).
- Coming off an outstanding summer, where he qualified for the Round of 32 match play at the U.S. Amateur and was second at the Indiana Open.
- Placed in the top 15 at both the Purdue Fall Invitational and Boilermaker Invitational last season.
