WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team closes out its fall season when it travels to the prestigious Isleworth Collegiate at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club outside Orlando.
 
Action starts with 18 holes on Sunday and teams will play 18 holes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on the challenging Arnold Palmer layout. All three rounds will begin at 8 a.m. ET. 
 
According to this year's early Golfstat rankings, seven of the 15 teams are ranked in the top 50, with four more squads being in the top 100. Purdue has faced five teams in the field this fall, owning a 3-2-0 record with wins over Augusta, Minnesota and South Carolina. The losses are to SEC powers Auburn and LSU.

LAST TIME OUT
The Boilermakers pieced together three solid rounds to finish third at the Purdue Fall Invitational last weekend at the Kampen Course. Purdue was only defeated by SEC powers Tennessee and LSU and in the process, edged out seven other teams ranked in the top 100. Herman Sekne continued his outstanding play, finishing second en route to Big Ten Golfer of the Week accolades, and Peyton Snoeberger (T-12) and Nels Surtani (T-16) also posted impressive top-20 finishes.
 
TEAM NOTES
  • With its top-five finish at the Purdue Fall Invite, Purdue has played 111 tournaments under head coach Rob Bradley, finishing in the top five in 60 of them.
  • Purdue has 28 rounds of 279 or better during the Rob Bradley era. Prior to his arrival, Purdue had 16 rounds of 279 or better in school history.
  • Eight of the top-10 single-season team scoring averages have come in the Rob Bradley era.
  • Since the start of last year, Purdue owns a 120-53-0 (.693) head-to-head winning percentage.
  • Purdue had three players finish in the top-20 at the Purdue Fall Invitational. It marked the second time this year with three top-20 finishes (Inverness).
  • Purdue has played well late in tournaments, posting a third-round stroke average of 287.67, almost two-and-a-half strokes better than any other round.

  • Herman Sekne / Junior / Oslo, Norway
    • Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week for the fifth time after finishing 2nd at the Purdue Fall Invitational.
    • Recorded ninth career top-10 showing with his runner-up showing at Purdue.  
    • Has 26 even- or under-par rounds among his 60 career rounds played.
    • Has eight top-10 finishes in his last 11 events dating to last season.
    • Has three straight top-10 showings, tied for the fifth-longest streak in school history.
    • Ranks first in career stroke average by over half-a-stroke (72.17). Austin Eoff is second at 72.82 strokes.
    • Since the start of last year, Sekne is a cumulative 16-under par (71.13 strokes per round).
    • Won the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate and Boilermaker Fall Invitational in back-to-back tournaments, the latter by a whopping seven shots.
    • One-of-two golfers (Cole Bradley) to have three career tournaments of 205 or better. He's played in 17 events.
    • Finished T-16th at the elite World Amateur Team Championship in early September, helping Norway to a fourth-place team finish. Moved from 143 to 124 in the WAGR official rankings.
  • Nick Dentino / Senior / Carmel, Indiana
    • Started the year with back-to-back top-20 finishes for the second time in his career and first time since his freshman year, when he finished T-15 at Inverness two weeks ago.
    • Finished tied for 16th at the season-opening Badger Invitational, shooting 2-under par 142 (74-68).
    • His 68 in the second round at the Badger Invite was his lowest tournament score since the Marquette Intercollegiate as a freshman.
    • Three of his 11 rounds this fall have been even- or under-par.
    • Currently ranks 16th on school's career stroke average list (73.95).
  • Nels Surtani / Junior / Indianapolis, Indiana
    • Strong showing at Purdue Fall Invite, posting a T-16 finish at 5-over par 221 (70-77-74).
    • Has 10 rounds of even-par or better, in 23 career rounds, and four top-20 finishes in eight career events.
    • Came up big in the third round at Inverness, firing a 3-under par 68, the second-lowest round of the day. Moved him up 32 spots to finish T-42.
    • Recorded his third career top-20 finish (in five events) with a T-19 showing at the Badger Invitational (72-71=143).
    • Had a strong summer, winning both the Golfweek Hoosier Amateur and Northern Amateur. Also placed 24th at the prestigious Monroe Invitational.
  • Peyton Snoeberger / Senior / Williamsport, Indiana
    • Finished T-12th at the Purdue Fall Invite, shooting 3-over par 219 (74-73-72).
    • Leads the team in third-round scoring (71.00).
    • Big final round of even-par 70 at Marquette to help Purdue to a fifth-place team finish.
    • Strong performance at Inverness, finishing T-12 as an individual at 3-over par 216. It marked his third top-15 performance in his last four events (T-14 at Purdue Fall Invite; T-11 at Boilermaker Invite; T-53 at Badger Invite; T-12 at Inverness).
    • Coming off an outstanding summer, where he qualified for the Round of 32 match play at the U.S. Amateur and was second at the Indiana Open.
    • Placed in the top 15 at both the Purdue Fall Invitational and Boilermaker Invitational last season.
    • Three of his seven rounds a year ago were even- or under-par.
  • Luke Prall / Junior / Carmel, Indiana
    • Has played two events on the counting team (Badger Invite, Inverness) and two as an individual (Marquette, Purdue Fall Invite).
    • Owns a 74.64 stroke average with two rounds of even-par or better.
    • Third on the team in pars made (120), and leads the team in par-3 scoring (3.00).
 
THE COURSE
Recognized as one of the most-prestigious private golf communities in America, the Isleworth Golf and Country Club hosts one of the college golf's elite events. Located among the renowned Butler Chain of Lakes in Central Florida, Isleworth Golf & Country Club is home to one of the longest and toughest courses in the state. Isleworth's magnificent greens, fairways and lakes are a sight to behold but beyond their beauty lies a golf challenge unlike any other. From its back tees, known as the Tiger Tees, Isleworth measures 7,544 yards with a slope of 142 and a rating of 77.5. Originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay with a re-design by Steve Smyers in 2003, Isleworth's course demands precise drives and accurate short game shots. 
 
ISLEWORTH COLLEGIATE HISTORY
Purdue will be making its third appearance in the Isleworth Collegiate, which was formerly called the Tavistock Invitational. The Boilermakers placed tied for sixth in the 2016 event and 11th in the 2017 event. The Boilermakers shot 874 in the 2016 event and 881 in the 2017 event. In the 2016 playing, the Boilermakers led an elite field after 18 holes, before faltering late in the third round to finish sixth.
