The win not only marked the ninth time Purdue has swept an opponent, but the 600th match head coach Dave Shondell, Associate Head Coach John Shondell and Assistant Head Coach –Recruiting Coordinator Kathy Jewell, has coached in at Purdue.
Additionally, for the first time this century, fans witnessed a Boilermaker reach 145 career aces. With Jena Otec's service ace in the third set, the graduate defensive specialist entered the program top-10, tying for No. 10 in program history. She is the first Boilermaker in 24 years to accomplish the feat (last: Brooke White, 1993-96).
