WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - For the first time in nearly two years, the Purdue women's tennis team shut out a B1G opponent, blanking Rutgers, 7-0, Saturday outdoors at the Schwartz Tennis Center. The 34th-ranked Boilermakers captured the doubles point with ease and won all six singles matches in straight sets as they improved to 12-5, 5-3 B1G, while the Scarlet Knights fell to 6-13, 0-10 B1G.

For the 11th time this spring, the Old Gold & Black jumped out early by claiming the doubles point. The undefeated duo of Krisztina Kapitany and Nicole Robinson kept their perfect record intact with a dominating 8-1 win over Lindsey Kayati and Lee Levy. The junior/sophomore duo boasts an 8-0 spring record and they are 5-0 against B1G competition in the No. 3 slot.

Credited with securing the point was the No. 2 pair of Daniela Vidal and Andjela Djokovic. In just their second match together, they downed Scarlet Knights Gina Li and Lindsay Balsamo, 8-5.

Play shifted to singles and Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum wasted no time pushing Purdue's lead to 2-0 thanks to a straight-set victory at No. 2. The junior blasted Kayati, 6-0, 6-1, en route to her 15th win of the spring season.

Robinson followed in the No. 4 spot of the lineup with another dominating straight-set performance, 6-1, 6-0 over Balsamo. The sophomore lifted her spring record to 9-4.

The win was clinched with Djokovic's 6-3, 6-4 outing against Levy at No. 6. Vidal followed at the top of the lineup, defeating Li 6-0, 7-5, pushing her senior mark to 14-6.

At No. 5, Kapitany matched her career high in spring wins, beating Mariam Zein in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. The Purdue junior has won 12 of her last 13 matches and owns a record of 13-3.

Xepoleas captured the first set from Chloe Lee, 6-4, and rounded out singles play by taking the second set in the breaker, 7-6 (3).

The Boilermakers will be back in action at the Schwartz Tennis Center Sunday against Maryland at 12 p.m. ET.
