LINCOLN, Neb. - The 29th-ranked Purdue women's tennis team won its fifth straight by rolling past No. 53 Nebraska, 5-1, Sunday at the Nebraska Tennis Center. The Boilermakers earned their second B1G dual match victory in as many played while lifting their overall record to 7-2. Now at 11-2, it was the Huskers first conference loss.

The 24th-ranked pair of Daniela Vidal and Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum registered their first shutout of the season, blanking Mary Hanna and Izabella Zgierska, 8-0, in the No. 1 spot. Not only was it the 10-2 tandem's first shutout, but it was their fifth consecutive win.

Nebraska evened the doubles battle by taking the No. 2 contest, resting the point on the result at No. 3. Krisztina Kapitany and Nicole Robinson clinched the point in dramatic fashion, prevailing in the tiebreaker, 8-7 (2), over Katerina Matysova and Mackenna Maddox. The junior/sophomore duo is now 3-0 playing side-by-side since their first time playing together on Feb. 22

Bernard-Feigenbaum was the first of a string of three straight singles victories for the Old Gold & Black. The junior earned her ninth win of the spring season with a 6-0, 6-2 showing against Zgierska at No. 2. After coming up short in the first set to Matysova 6-4, Kapitany battled in the second and third sets, 6-4, 6-0, respectively, to defeat the Husker. The junior has won her last six matches and owns a 7-2 mark.

For the third time this season, Robinson clinched the dual match point for her team with her 6-3, 6-3 decision over Spurti Shivalingaiah, in the No. 3 spot. Since entering the lineup on Feb. 20, the sophomore is 5-0.

Vidal earned the fifth and final point for the Boilermakers at the top spot by rallying to defeat Maggy Lehmicke, 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (7). The senior moved to 9-3 in her final season at Purdue with the win.

The Boilermakers are back in action on Friday, March 13 when they host rival Indiana at the Schwartz Tennis Center at 1 p.m. ET.
