WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The No. 13 Purdue volleyball team welcomes fans to interact with the Boilers and Big Ten Network on social media throughout the day on Wednesday using the hashtag #PurdueUWVB as part of the team's Social Media Night match against No. 4 Wisconsin. The Boilermakers also encourage fans to be a part of the team's Dig for a Cure night by wearing pink to support the breast cancer awareness cause at the 7:30 p.m. ET match.
Fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #PurdueUWVB for all twitter posts (tweets) related to the event and are asked to tweet pictures of themselves donning their school colors, whether at the match or watching elsewhere, using the hashtag.
Photographer Charles Jischke will be following the team throughout the day and posting pictures to various social media platforms. Ticket giveaways, twitter trivia and more will highlight the day's events.
The flyer linked at the top of this story will be distributed to all patrons. It features the twitter handles of all of the players and others associated with the Purdue and Wisconsin programs as well as Big Ten Volleyball and the Big Ten Network.
The Big Ten Network will broadcasting the match and tracking social media interactions as well. Fans will be able to ask the TV announcers Mike Wolf and Liz Tortorello-Nelson questions during the match through Twitter using the handle @BTNVolleyball or @B1GVolleyball.
