Blake Wrestling Training Center

Blake Wrestling Training Center

Since work began in August 2017, over $300,000 has been invested in Purdue’s Blake Wrestling Training Center. The Boilermakers’ practice facility has undergone massive structural modifications, equipment upgrades and visual components.

Structural changes have allowed for an increase in of over 1,000 square feet of open mat space, while elevating cardio equipment and free weights that were previously stationed matside. The now 5,300 square footage of unobtrusive mat space is double stacked, sporting a sleek new Resilite classic mat on top. New wall mats have also been installed outlining the room.

The three rows of seating that were located directly inside the facility’s main entrance have been transformed into a cardio platform. New equipment, including AirDyneX bikes, treadmills, ellipticals and free weights, span the 64’ x 12’ space overlooking the wrestling mats below.

New paint and graphic work has revitalized wall space throughout the room. Strong Purdue branding is the focal point of the north wall. The wall behind the cardio equipment features national champions, All-Americans and Big Ten Conference champions. Additional graphic work for the south and west walls is planned.

The facility, which opened in 2005, is located in Lambert Fieldhouse adjacent to Mackey Arena.
